InTime

What is "In-Time"?

“In-Time” describes the state of a live roleplaying game when actual playing is done. While being in-time, players should act as their characters only, with as few slips into their real personas as possible. Players and referees can usually interrupt the in-time state with a given command (for example: “Stop!”) if an emergency occurs (a player hurt himseld for real etc.).

Sometimes the referees will interrupt the in-time state in yet another way (commonly known as “Time-Freeze”) to change the scene around the players. Players are expected to close their eyes and hum so that they won’t realize these changes until the in-time state resumes.
